Water is a scarce commodity and we must not use it unnecessarily;
We must be aware of the great value of water and, above all, understand that we are responsible for achieving a sustainable world.
In addition to being environmentally responsible, which is already quite important, we should also ask ourselves : how can we save on our water bill?
Considering that a person can consume up to 100/200 liters of water per day , it is best to try to lower this average consumption and save on the bill with the following recommendations:
1- Every time we flush the toilet, we use 9 to 12 liters of water.
So don’t use it as a waste bin, papers, hair, cigarettes… can be thrown into the normal waste bin. Also, if you don’t have a dual-flush cistern, you can always put a bottle full of sand in the toilet tank.
2- Install economizers on the taps such as aerators or flow reducers;
They are very cheap and allow you to reduce up to 60% of water. Above all, you will notice water savings in the kitchen.
3- Always repair small water leaks as soon as you detect them.
4- When you are in the bathroom, always turn off the taps while brushing your teeth, shaving and even when soaping yourself in the shower. Every drop counts!
5- Use quality appliances and always use the washing machine and dishwasher at full load.
6- Always try to take showers instead of baths. Filling a bath requires about 300 liters of water.
7- Don’t throw away the water you use to boil vegetables, and when it’s cold, water the plants. Or, on the contrary, when it rains, take your indoor plants out onto the balcony or into the garden.
8- Defrost food by removing it from the freezer or in the microwave first, forget about leaving it under the tap.
9- Washing the car in a specific tunnel will save more water than with the hose.
We hope that with these recommendations you will notice savings very soon!
