In Andorra, social security covers 75% of medical expenses . To have access to the remuneration, you must have Andorran nationality or immigration authorization that allows you to work in the country .
The Andorran social security system is divided into two benefit models :
- General: Covers maternity/paternity benefits , pregnancy risk, disability , temporary incapacity , death and orphanhood .
- Retirement: Covers the loss of economic income due to retirement and widowhood .
So almost all of us who pay into the Andorran Social Security have insurance as a complement to the Cass , to cover 25% of the total medical and pharmaceutical expenses that are not covered by the Andorran Social Security Fund .
This first complement would be the basic one, but there is another one that is expanded.
The ASSAP ” Extended CASS Complement ” insurance, in addition to covering the return of 25% of the total medical and pharmaceutical expenses that are not covered by the Andorran Social Security Fund , guarantees the reimbursement of medical expenses in approved centres in Spain . That is, any consultation, test or intervention in any centre approved by the company is also covered.
It is a very interesting product , especially for the user who appreciates having check-ups , tests and seeking a second opinion outside of Andorra .
The advantage is that there is no need for prepayment , since the subscription card is made directly between the company and the contracted center . In addition, there is no copayment . And one of the things that users like most is that there are no waiting lists .
As a tip when hiring it, you always have to fill out the data authorization for the Cass offered by the company . This document is the information that the Cass receives from the company according to the fact that this person has contracted an extended Cass Supplement and thus, when making the payments , any delay and/or problem is avoided.
Why do you know what is 100% covered by CASS and what is not?
Only 100% of all expenses arising from an accident at work or an occupational disease are covered. Except for people with disabilities , those with insufficient financial resources , orphans under 18 years of age and all persons under the guardianship of the Government of Andorra.
