Benefits of sport

Doing sports is in fashion (and may it continue…) But do you know what benefits sport brings to our body beyond the physical part? If you do sports from time to time and stop to think, you will see that the sensations you experience at the end (if the session has not presented any problems) are very positive.

It is also suitable for all ages, for everyone, from an individual or group risk sport to an everyday activity such as going for a walk . Among other things, which we will see later, it improves mood , especially in those people who have been diagnosed with an illness.

Do you want to know some of its benefits ?

  • Increase your intellectual capacity : Several studies carried out on mice and humans have shown that cardiovascular exercise can create new neurons and can strengthen the connection between them. The result: by doing physical activity, the performance of our brain will also improve.
  • Prevents cognitive decline : Physical exercise, in addition to a healthy diet, helps prevent the onset of degenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s. Sports practice contributes to the fact that we release chemical substances in our brain that prevent the degeneration of the hippocampus.
  • You just feel better : We mentioned it a moment ago. When you exercise, your body releases endorphins, the hormones in your body responsible for creating feelings of relaxation and happiness. That’s why we generally feel happier and in a better mood after exercising.
  • You gain willpower : Regular exercise requires a lot of willpower. Laziness and trivial excuses are not enough. You have to be persistent, and this persistence is positively transferred to other areas of your daily life.
  • Build self-confidence : By practicing sports, we can increase our self-esteem and have a better image of ourselves. If we slowly achieve the goals and objectives we set for ourselves, we will look better and feel more capable of facing the challenges of everyday life.
  • Relieves tension : The chemical substances generated during sports practice will also help us relieve tension and reduce stress, and consequently, the diseases derived from these (such as depression).

And if you are one of those who still make excuses:

  • I never have time to do anything : Choose swimming , just doing it for a few minutes is a complete exercise.
  • I don’t have money to join a gym : You can do sports outdoors, you don’t have to lock yourself in a gym, you can go running or walking , do via ferratas , mountain routes …etc. There are many to do.
  • I’m too tired to do anything after work : Everything is difficult or boring at first, but once you get into the habit , your body will ask for it , and this feeling of exhaustion will gradually decrease.

If you still don’t see it clearly, give it a try: put on your trainers and go for a run or a high-intensity walk . Once you’re done, you’ll surely have a smile from ear to ear while you shower!
