Assap Assegurances team participates in the 5th edition of the Skimo Femenino

From Assap Assegurances we are proud to participate in solidarity events and we keep intact our will to continue promoting and vindicating the role of women in women’s sports and in all areas of our society.

After the forced cancellation in 2021 due to the pandemic, the sector of Pla de la Caubella in Pal Arinsal hosted, last March 6, the fifth edition of the Skimo Femenino with a double race in the modalities of ski mountaineering and snowshoeing. As in previous editions, Assap Seguros once again sponsored the race and, at the same time, was an active part of the competition, forming a team in the snowshoeing category, a 3.4 km route to the Plan de la Cot and back to the Plau de la Caubella.

Early celebration of International Women’s Day and promotion of snow sports in the women’s sector

If there is one aspect that characterizes the Pal Arinsal Women’s Skimo, this is undoubtedly its solidarity and vindictive character. In this sense, the race served for all participants(315 bibs adding the two modalities) to celebrate, in advance and with sport as a common thread, the International Women’s Day and, at the same time, to claim the female role in snow sports.

As for the solidarity aspect, all the proceeds from the 315 runners (men could participate, but without scoring) went entirely to an organization in the country, specifically the Association of Autism Sufferers of Andorra (Autea).

Winners of a 100% solidarity day

Despite not being the most important, the winner of the ski mountaineering race was Loli Mellado, with a time of 37 minutes and 53 seconds. As for the snowshoe race, where the Assap Assegurances team participated, the fastest participant to complete the 3.4km was Marina Vishniakova, with a time of 26 minutes and 47 seconds.

The day ended with a solidarity meal and an après-ski party. From Assap Assegurances we are proud to participate in solidarity events and we keep intact our will to continue promoting and vindicating the role of women in women’s sports and in all areas of our society.
